Our Drywall Models are designed exclusively for walls and ceilings. These models have plates instead of trays. The Drywall "plate" becomes flush to drywall surfaces when installed. Drywall Plates do not come with ability to add finished surface material inside them (Fig.1).
What If I Want to Add Matching Surface Material?
Well, it all depends on the type of material. If heavy material (such as: tile, vinyl, MDF cladding, brick, cement, wood planks, texture wall panels, cement board etc.) is secured to the Drywall Model it will cause problems. Simply because the weight of the material will not allow the plate to fully lock into the vent's body. Thus, it would not function as our design intended for. Drywall Models are better suited for paints and wallpapers. As shown in Fig. 2 below.
My Walls Are Not Drywall & I Need The Insert to Match my Surface Material.
You're in luck! Our designated floor models - the Aria OG and Aria Lite, are not one trick ponies. These models have been engineered for multi- functional purposes (as shown in Fig. 3). They work on walls and ceilings! With the added benefit of having an empty tray just waiting to be filled with a matching surface material.
How To Install on a Wall
Installing an Aria OG or an Aria Lite in your wall with materials other than drywall like tile, vinyl, MDF cladding, brick, wood planks, texture wall panels, or cement board is simple. All you need to do is:
Step 1) determine the size of the vent exit in your wall;
Step 2) insert matching wall material into the tray. Secure in tray with adhesive bonding glue;
Step 3) put your vent in place on the wall or ceiling surface;
Step 4) fasten the body of the vent to the substrate of the wall. There are 4 holes on the lateral sides of the body of the vent (see Fig. 4). Screw in diagonally to secure the body to the substrate behind the wall.
Fig. 4. The other two holes are in the exact same place on the other side of the body.
This video outlines how to secure matching floor material inside a tray.
Wondering what your next vent should be? It's a no brainer. The Aria OG & Aria Lite are where style meets ease of use. Pick up one for your home today!
